Deer Hunting in French Pyrenées

Deer Hunting in French Pyrenées

Every year some Markhor Hunting customers and friends of Jean Pierre Mateo will hunt red deer (Elaphe) in the southern mountains of France (Hautes Pyrénées) and more precisely in the Barousse Valley. This hunt takes place during the rut deer (late September / early October) with the strategy (Spot and Stalk) during the day and night on the lookout. Deer density is very important and hunters are sure to have ample opportunities depending on the desired animals. Difficulty of this hunt was medium to hard. We hunt mostly male wearing horns up to 12 or 14, but it is also possible to get the does and fawns. Hunting weapons can be either rifles or bow. On this trip the Compound Win & Win Black camo 60 Hurricane C6 Power Books bow was used. Backpack: Markhor Hunting Elk Mtn 45 Realtree camo X'tra. Camo jacket and pants Swedteam Gore Tex.
